Saxophonist
Lydia is studying on the Guildhall Artist Masters Programme with John Harle at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Lydia is generously supported by the Guildhall School Trust and Nibley Arts. She is honoured to have previously studied with Lara James and Wes Duggan, and received coaching from Quatuor Habanera, the Apollo Saxophone Quartet and the American Saxophone Academy.
Lydia won Gloucestershire Young Musician 2018, winning both the Hewitt-Jones trophy and the Carducci audience prize, and received Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with Distinction in 2019.
Lydia was a mentee with the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) 2021–2022, mentored by Dr Holly De Caigny, and now serves on the ad hoc committee. Read about Lydia's experience at NASA in the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain Journal.
Lydia gained a first-class BASc degree in Arts and Sciences at University College London (UCL), specialising in Activating Climate Action Through Music with supervisor Dr Kat Austen.
Lydia loves mixing classical repertoire with a theatrical twist, and enjoys working with composers and collaborators across a wide range of genres. Below are selected saxophone performances.
